John J. "Jack" Tommaney was born August 25, 1920 in Albany, N.Y. He graduated from Fordham University with a B.S. degree in 1942. Following graduation, Tommaney volunteered for the "ski troops" and entered military service at Fort Dix, New Jersey on February 17, 1943.
